“I am only one, but still I am one.
I cannot do everything, but still I can do something.
I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.”
—Helen Keller
ACTIVITIES (like planting, for instance–things you can do on a personal, local level)
For the Flying Things: The birds, the bees, and butterflies!
- Don’t forget to put out food and water for the birds. And please, make
sure the water isn’t frozen. If you can swing a heated bird bath, that would be great for them.
- Please, don’t pull, cut, or spray the dandelions! Bees need them for food, especially in the early spring. They also love clover blooms, if you’re lucky enough to have some.

- Save the Frogs Day (annually on the last Saturday in April)
- Mission/Purpose: “Save The Frogs Day is the world’s largest day of amphibian education and conservation action. Our goal is to provide people with educational materials, ideas and inspiration and empower them to educate their local communities about amphibians. Save The Frogs Day takes place annually on the last Saturday of April. . . . On this day we encourage the appreciation and celebration of amphibians by people from all walks of life. Only a small proportion of the public is aware that frogs are disappearing, and amphibian conservation efforts will not be successful with an un-informed public. Our goal is to make the amphibian extinction crisis common knowledge, and Save The Frogs Day is our best way to make this happen! Please organize a Save The Frogs Day event and help educate your community about the importance of amphibians.” Or you can also make a donation.
